Pitsford Water Week Ending 28th April 2024

Rod Average - 5.0

The cold winds do not appear to have put the fish off the feed at Pitsford with a very healthy rod average for the week of 5.

Most catch returns speak of buzzers in Black or Olive being the best approach, fished in a variety of ways from bung, straight lined or washing line when the fish seemed higher in the water.

Iain Barr and boat partner had a fantastic day on the water taking many of their fish on floating Shrimp/Ghimp patterns before going onto dries and catching consistently.

Other methods have seen Snakes doing well but fished higher in the water.

Best areas are Brixworth Bay, Sailing Club bank and bay, Dam and Gravel bank.

With the forecast for warmer weather this week the buzzer hatches should increase significantly and the fishing should really take off.
